Here in Boston I attended Brent Schenkler's excellent talk on blogs v wikis. She said she wasn't at allclear about the difference between a blog and a wiki. She said she wasn't at allclear about the difference between a blog and a wiki. Brent asked if anyone needed a clarification of the terms but no-one put their hand up.

On Wednesday, on his Plan B blog , my old mate Donald Clark told us that TV is dying, and I believe him. I hope this happens because this is an idea that comes just at the right time and deserves success.' But in some ways it is just changing form. The shows are free, whether you watch them live or view the recordings later.

Well, for now at least, it will not be blogging. That's not to mention another 100 or so posts on the Onlignment blog.

On both occasions, the idea that most got me thinking was that 'synchronous is sovereign'. Use the fact that emotional engagement is high to develop the BIG IDEAS. Use the fact that every group of participants is unique to put those ideas into a meaningful context.

Practically everyone on the planet with access to a PC or a mobile device is used to the idea that you can get any information you want, anytime you want, in practically any format you want, just by typing key words into a search field. While these may be useful to some, they are in the wrong form completely to meet contemporary needs.
