It is a good idea to test out the microphone input by saying some words with “plosives” and speak as loud as you think you will get when reading the script. It’s not a bad idea to record a few sentences as part of your soundcheck and then play it back into your headphones so you can be aware of these details.

It claims that any given PowerPoint slide should have one main idea, a maximum of six bullet points and a maximum of six words per bullet point. I like the idea of keeping it brief, but I think this rule forgets to include something about visuals. I recently stumbled across something called the 1-6-6 rule for PowerPoint.
