Before I worked for an association, I worked as a project manager (among other roles) at a company that developed Web-enabled elearning. Everything we produced — from the LMSs to the elearning courses — came from the creative talents of the employees. Have you seen the TV commercial with the three skiers on the lift, each with their app-infested phones? At least one is doing something related to work…

Many LMS vendors provide portlets, gadgets or widgets that allow for access of learning content (most often meaning courses and courseware) through the corporate portal. It's certainly better than putting a static link to your LMS somewhere on the corporate portal / intranet. But this only scratches the surface of what it means to integrate the Learning Management System (LMS) into the systems that people use day-to-day in an enterprise.
