What are vendors and consultants doing to help companies leverage current long-standing applications in the enterprise, such as email, LMS, and CMS? Paid experience: technical trainer, technical training developer, build and release manager, web administrator, systems administrator. This week I attended the Enterprise 2.0 Today I was on a panel about social learning. In the spirit of that presentation and #lrnchat, I wanted to share the biggest thing I learned at this conference. No one is talking about practical ways to architect social solutions. | ENSPIRE LEARNING DECEMBER 6, 2011 Enspire Celebrates 10 Years of Operations During its 10th year of creating online learning solutions, Enspire received several top industry honors , including a Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning award, first place in the Simulations Interactivity Shootout, and recognition on Training Industry’s Top 20 Content Development Companies. When I started this journey in my dorm room in Boston, I had a vision for the products we would create, the markets we would serve, and the city where we would live, but I had no idea what incredible people would join me on the ride,” co-founder and CEO Bjorn Billhardt said. | | | | | | | ELEARNING WEEKLY JULY 10, 2009 28 Web Conference Training Tips This article is a guest post by Mary Polley-Berte, Director of Customer Support & Training, SyberWorks, Inc. Companies and organizations today use web conferencing in many aspects of their organizations-to conduct meetings, collaborate on projects, demonstrate products and services, and more. Learning to use web conferencing technology is pretty easy, but there is a lot more to training via web conference than just putting on a headset, dialing up an audio-conferencing bridge, and logging onto the application. Provide training exercises on the topics discussed. | MINDFLASH DECEMBER 16, 2011 Looking Back at the Year in e-Learning, and Other Web Links To my mind, winter only starts when everyone I see on the train in the morning is wearing a scarf. In that spirit, here are a few links to interesting e-learning and training tid-bits from around the Web, with a heavy focus on year-end reviews of the field. Training Magazine’s Year in Review report shows that U.S. Likewise, training payroll increased substantially, from $25.7 | LEARNING VISIONS AUGUST 22, 2007 Cammy Beans Learning Visions: Half of Companies Blocking Facebook Cammy Beans Learning Visions Musings on eLearning, instructional design and other training stuff. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 Half of Companies Blocking Facebook Christy Tucker has been musing on Social Networking as LMS: Problems and Opportunities. This August 21 article posted by Sharon Gaudin in Information Week reports that Half of Companies are Blocking Facebook: "Employers are increasingly blocking access to Facebook because theyre concerned about the time wasted and the information leaked when workers use social networks on company time." Interesting post! | DAWN OF LEARNING JUNE 5, 2010 Time for the Training Department to be Taken Seriously The enterprise content management software market currently exceeds $4B, so it’s quite clear that the vast majority of organizations place strong emphasis on their ECM strategy – a strategy that the training organization unfortunately typically takes no part in. It was very different from the typical training conferences that we regularly attend. Read on! Why not? Theme by mg12. | | | | | | | | | -
JAY CROSS | TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2013 50 suggestions for implementing 70-20-10 As standalone companies realize that they’re really extended enterprises, co-learning with customers and stakeholders becomes important as everyone faces the future together. We call harmonious companies Coherent Organizations. Once upon a time, I worked at a small company. Because I knew the business and had helped design our software package, and because I was pretty good in front of a crowd, I ended up doing the training. One thing led to another and a couple of years later, I got hired at a small multi-media production company that developed corporate training programs delivered on CD ROMs. My new job title: “instructional designer.” I’d never even heard the term, but here I was—off to the races—in what’s turned into a rather healthy career in elearning.
