ECONTENT | TUESDAY, AUGUST 8, 2006 Wikimania - My Thoughts - NorthStarNerd.Org My activities in Boston this evening included: A training run along the banks of the Charles River Watching my first Calvin Ball match Somehow it seems appropriate that the remaining Wikipedians would be playing Calvin Ball. Attending this session was more of a "hobby" for me, but I was interested to find 1/2 of the attendees were from the likes of the Boston Globe, the LA Times, NPR and Yahoo. This post was a response to responses to my post and activities at PodCamp Boston this year. This post referenced my new-favorite Gervais Principle post, but was about the sexist overtures at the Yahoo Hack Days in Taiwan. Podcamp Boston, lack of women speakers, and bringing things to neutral. went to Podcamp Boston. worked with 2 other women to create an ad hoc session about why women didn’t speak at tech conferences, especially when the barriers were so low (as they were at podcamp boston).
