Online learning content can perform many different functions, depending on the learning strategy which you are employing. By exposition we mean the delivery of learning content to the learner with little or nothing in the way of interaction. Content can function as a catalyst for the discovery process, perhaps through a case study.

So, what I've done is restrict my thoughts to the design of interactive, e-learning content, drawing heavily from the 60-minute masters : Structure into modules. This will make it easier for learners, curriculum designers and intelligent software to make use of the content in a wide variety of contexts. Hook the learner in.
