Additional cost for Training/Support – package based (Common in the industry, but enough already). Social Learning add on module – Not a lot for what you get at an additional cost. Anything that reduces calls into a company’s tech support (and thus lower the costs for that vendor’s customer support) will be incorportad.  Forecast : Strong growth and increased costs to the company who purchases these solutions.  Data costs.

You still have to purchase seats for that content and that will cost. They will not give you unlimited seats – okay they will – but it will cost major $$$.   Many people are turning to open source LMS/LCMSs solutions, including Moodle without knowing ahead of time, the potential challenges that might befall them.  all free.
What about the cost of customer service (more on that in a second)?  Do you ever see extra costs hidden in there and say to them, uh what is this? Total Costs and Discount Breakouts.  Clearly the total cost is obvious. You should see total cost, then discount break %, then the final total cost.  It is Free.
In fact, I would say, after asking about your key features request (what you need), in your mind you are thinking – “how much will this cost me?&#.  When it comes time to start exploring your LMS (or LCMS), you will invariably get to the pricing component. Welcome to Moneyball! Street Pricing. Wrong! It appears in two ways. Phone.

Additional cost. It will cost you for customizations. Always get the cost upfront and have them send you an addendum or document, which includes the customization piece, total cost and a place where they sign and you sign. So, what do you do? Nothing and just move forward figuring that it really doesn’t matter.

Most of the complaints (other than those relating to costs) are not a function of learning online, but rather of the course design. Slashdot – hallowed ground for die-hard techies – is again tackling the question of experiences with online education. well designed online course can be an excellent learning experience.

Am I glad to hear this; it was high time India jumped on the low-cost tablet and its happened! With a package pricing approaching 35 USD, and finally to cost even less, it seems economical as well. Kapil Sibal announced it, and described it as a dream project. The tablet is intended for children from the primary to university level.

So how do you figure out what something should cost? Now that I’ve spent the last 4+ years on the sell side with consulting companies, I deeply appreciate that the correct answer to the question “what will it cost me” really is “it depends.” Development costs : What would it cost to convert the materials into web based training?
If you are going to raise a stink, I would suggest you do it by pointing to various resources that discuss costs. Online Course Development: What Does It Cost? Though they may be free at a tangible expense level, they do carry a cost which the organization implementing the LMS should be aware and careful of. The cost is not only in terms of money spent on various components of procuring, managing and supporting the element but there could be other costs which can be quite detrimental.
I received an inquiry about the need for a low cost LMS solution and I've not had time to help this person with answers. Also, my guess is that looking at License costs is probably a bad idea here since quite often there are services, hosting, etc. costs that can exceed license costs. I'll try to aggregate them together.
