So PC World is reporting on a Gartner study that says that upon reaching a high threshold of broadband penetration "ISPs will concentrate less on building out their networks to reach new customers and more on expanding what customers can do with their broadband Internet connections." If we were to believe reports, then in 2007 Gartner predicted that blogging will peak in 2008 and then it will fizzle out. I recently read an article in The Economist highlighting a report that shows that "the rate of growth of blogs has slowed in many parts of the world. In some countries growth has even stalled". The trends are changing.

When Gartner announced their recent report on virtual worlds and business a few days ago, I rather cynically tweeted: “Gartner reports on virtual worlds in business.*Now* Okay, that wasn’t fair, at least not to Gartner. Virtual worlds have been on Gartner’s Hype Cycle pretty much since they’ve existed.
Unified Communications --The coming together of seemingly unrelated systems like security cameras and marketing or store traffic data.this could be an interesting and possibly disturbing trend. Social Software --Wikis, blogs, podcasts. This seems obvious. Especially as more and more people adopt these technologies.
