My new job will not use Moodle. I've pretty much left Moodle in a position where it can be ignored for awhile until someone decides to take ownership and start the reintroduction process. They are transitioning from a home-grown, simple web page with a database to Skill Soft. didn't have a chance. don't see that happening anytime soon.

Moodle is well known for a slight lack of design flair in the out-of-the-box theme packs. Often, though, we'll need to redesign the overall look and feel of a Moodle site. Moodle is a very complex application, with many different parts of the interface that need styling. Thirdly, Moodle themes cascade. That's fine.

Why Moodle? One of the most frequently asked questions I get from blog readers is "Why did I choose to go with Moodle" over other Learning Management Systems. The answer is simple; Moodle gives you the most bang for your buck, especially if you don't have a lot of bucks. However, Moodle is not all rainbows and unicorns.

And “in times like these…” Why pay for a pricey LMS when you can Moodle or Drupal or Sakai ? Moodle and other open source products have huge communities behind them. There’s no vendor who creates Moodle per say. But Moodle is increasingly being used in the corporate market. Moodle out of the box is like vanilla pudding.

Moodle does a lot of things great, but site wide reporting and bulk user management are definitely not included in those great things. If you are a Moodle administrator for an organization I am sure you know the pain of having to go into each course site to produce grade reports for multiple courses. Tags: Moodle eLearning

In his post, George describes Moodle as being one of many "content-centric" systems. Martin Dougiamas (founder of Moodle) then comments: Moodle itself is actually activity-centric. Moodle itself is fairly neutral pedagogically – most things are possible. The secondary reason is about why we use Moodle.

With all the hype surrounding the upcoming arrival of Moodle 2.0, I thought it might be a good time to revisit what we love and hate about Moodle 1.9. Now that we are getting ready to say goodbye to Moodle 1.9, but generally i do like moodle. Tags: Moodle LMS eLearning Low Cost eLearning

No doubt this is due to the prominence of Moodle which appears to be breaking out in to mainstream consciousness - popular British computing weekly MicroMart is even carrying an article extolling its virtues this week. Moodle is of course THE open source e-learning item of the moment*1. From the limited screenshots it looks pretty.
