collaboration platform that is over-engineered would be counterproductive. The key aspect of a collaboration platform is that should make work more transparent and rewards sharing. Connect the LMS to a collaborative work platform. Migrate learning to a collaboration platform and minimize use of the LMS.

Stephen Downes picked up my post on Facebook As a Learning Platform. All of that said, Facebook is surprising me in terms of how well it works as a platform. But when people talk about it as a platform for Educational Simulations , I am less excited. Second Life truly is a phenomenon. It is exactly what the name and vision imply: an example of a parallel "multiverse". In fact, here are my list of top ten missing features from Second Life: Support for a good scripted story. What else am I missing?

as the next application platform got me thinking again about what corporate eLearning development will be like in five years. The recent article by Dion Hinchcliffe - Blogs, wikis, and Web 2.0 Actually, I'm not even that sure what it looks like today. We also are seeing a Shift in eLearning from Pure Courseware towards Reference Hybrids.

Just very recently Google announced the release of CloudCourse , calling it both an internal learning platform and also a course scheduling system. Built entirely on Google’s App Engine, it is primarily a scheduling platform which integrates with Google Calendar. And that would definitely be news!
