Jane's new book, Social Media for Trainers , is no exception, and it provides an ideal introduction for anyone who wants to understand how to use tools, like blogs, wikis, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, SlideShare, Flickr, etc to deliver training, facilitate discussions and extend learning beyond the confines of a training event.

Wiki- looks nothing like Wikipedia. As social learning continues to grow, LMS/LCMS vendors are taking various approaches. While some view themselves as “social learning savvy, incorporating various components, others seem to see themselves as just sitting on the sidelines. Do Nothing. Stick your feet into the water, just a bit.

Our team uses a wiki to document our design and development processes, something I wrote about in a short column for the eLearning Guild’s Learning Solutions magazine. This weekend I was imagining a conversation between two people about the benefits of a wiki. This also focuses exclusively on the “why of wikis.

One of my papers will detail my wiki activities 5 stage model. See the wiki activities page of one online group for an example here. The model starts with Exploration (where students are finding out about their new learning environment, discovering the do's and dont's and generally orientating themselves on the wiki).

Significant increases in productivity with a wiki. We use the wiki for our team, but I wonder what we can do to be more effective with it, as well as how we can help other departments in the company. Use templates on the wiki to make it easier to structure pages so people can be familiar with it. Getting People to Use the Wiki.

To me, the scenario that you described would be best served with a wiki. suggest you set up contribution "standards" so everyone understands the best method for contributing to the wiki.
