If onlies are our challenges and drivers that help us to get “unstuck”.

Consultation/Training Needs Analysis checklist

I’ll keep that as a new topic of discussion… The learning solution must be effective enough within a constrained budget and time-line. It is not really possible to do a one-on-one mapping of a training program—be it e-learning, ILT, blended, etc.—with with the performance.

This would require an initial investment much higher than the budget put forth. And the training department—for whom this has been a new venture (more of a hit-and-miss adventure because they are new to the e-learning concept) can proudly tick off one more task accomplished from their task list. But the end result would be effective.

Building learning organizations require a paradigm shift!

The management thinks of further cutting down training cost during the next budget (since it doesn't work anyways!). Training gets a bad reputation. Supervisors continue to harass frustrated employees. Productivity remains the same or may dip. Training never gets a chance to speak. Frustration is rampant.

2) Develop a plan for solving the problem, based on company culture, existing materials, resources, budget, stakeholder and SME involvement, vendor solutions and a host of other variables. Talk to stakeholders and SMEs, gather and assemble data and report back the findings. Develop a high-level scope.
