We often try to foster a sense of community in our instructional writing for business, encouraging the employee (the learner) to identify with the business (the teacher). Fewer words + user friendly language = happy customers = profitable business. What are your thoughts on e-learning and business typography? No way.

This might not be the case with business applications. The software industry is loaded with help manuals and tutorials. It doesn’t matter how complex or easy the product is, a help manual or a tutorial is a must have. Why would someone need a help manual or a tutorial if the product is self-explanatory, obvious, easy to use? Reasons.

Think of a graph where an established business keeps, for the most part, a status quo – a straight horizontal line. Blockbuster was in the wrong business. They were in the business of renting videos when they should have been in the business of delivering entertainment to homes. It happens time and time again.

In a nutshell, I see the business applications of Twitter falling into three main categories: 1. So maybe Twitter provides your business with an opportunity to engage with a different demographic of customer.
