Qarbon Pros: Less File size. Qarbon seems very easy to use. Camtasia and Adobe Captivate : Pros: Heard lots of good thing about them. And I may eventually, but not initially, want to be able to track them under an LMS, i.e., have SCORM tracking. I have been looking into various tools. Creates as screenshot.

The client is sadly under the impression that capturing screenshots of the application using a Rapid e-Learning Authoring Tool like Captivate and putting those inside a UI is what goes by the name of sim training modules.

The version you want is the Pro version which comes with Corel Paint Shop Pro, Qarbon Viewlet builder. Captivate – Overrated in my book. In fact, most folks have no idea that there are other authoring tools out there beyond Articulate, Captivate and Camtasia. . Solid set of features.

Now, to arrive at a manageable number of alternatives, you have to sub-divide the market into categories: Rapid tools ( Articulate , Captivate , Atlantic Link ) as opposed to whatever the others are called ( Authorware , Lectora , etc.).
