Adobe Captivate Prime brings forth a modern UI, along with a simple UX (user experience), but along the way misses the boat on several items that leaves one wondering why? FTP overnights for the HRIS system or HR database – Captivate Prime learns it on the first upload (I did not test this – this is according to Adobe).

In my own in-depth research to find Moodle plugins offering Generative AI, I ended up using AI to handle my searching. Way too many folks that go built-in, if they go and search – want the pie in the sky, even though their own system doesn’t even make a half a pie. The others? All five are fee-based. Not a chance.

Many of us, searched sites, such as this little known one called Amazon.com, which sold only books. Advanced – Captivate and Lectora. You added “objects” ADDIE (developed for everything but e-learning) was tapped. I went with a Hybrid form of ADDIE. I bought one that was quite good, and from there, I was ready.

If I was an Instructional Designer and I was choosing between Storyline or Captivate, I’d go Storyline. Captivate is so yesterday. I don’t like that it can be cumbersome to use, the UI/UX is challenging IMO for some folks, the newbies more so. Sure you can do less, but if you are getting this thing, why go basic?

I’m talking about an authoring tool that has the oomph in it for me to use it for all my needs, rather than searching for other products to enable me to do so. For those wondering, Adobe Captivate Prime, does not come with Captivate nor is Captivate in the cloud. Why is that missing? My Top Five so far for mid-year.

Products like Captive, Claro, Lectora and Storyline enabled the ID folks to create robust courses. Oh, and sorry Captivate your tool is not easy. . I expect to see an easier to find search, than exists for most vendors today, using metadata. No offense to Microsoft here, but the search bank within Word for example is not easy.
