What's New in Captivate 5? Twitter, That's What!

During #LrnChat it was mentioned that Captivate 5 will include integration with Twitter. Yes, I do think using social media tools directly for informal learning is a better option in many, if not most situations, but if a "blended" solution is needed then incorporating Twitter into Captivate is now an option.

Development Tools - Should I Cut Out the Middle Guy?

Almost every course involved using Flash for interactive elements (animations, games, quizzes, simulations, video, etc.). I will note that I will keep Captivate in my toolbox , as it is more effective for developing software/application simulations than building them from scratch in Flash.

Adobe Captivate - I used this for creating every simulation in the course. I find Captivate to be a great tool for software simulations, plus I could easily edit instructions in the sims, add graphics including the Captain and Ossie 7. My Top 10 e-Learning Tools

Adobe Captivate - Fantastic for creating simulations (software sims and branching sims), plus it does a good job recording audio for your sims. Windows MovieMaker - Editing videos prior to using them in courses. Adobe Fireworks - It is my choice for editing graphics because it is user-friendly to non-graphic artists like me.

There are already great cloud tools out there, but I think we will see more e-learning development tools at the level of Flash, Captivate, Articulate, OutStart Trainer, etc. We probably will see it replace Flash for video/audio support, but it will fall short in its quality and level of interactivity and animation. on the cloud.
