Sitting around a conference table for class. In a 3D world, the interaction with the students feels more intimate than with a 2-D distance learning application such as Centra, Horizon Wimba or Adobe Connect. Another question and this one is simple.why 3D? We've got plenty of great 2D platforms for communication, what does 3D add?

Video conference technology doesn't make people look good, there are glares, bad hair days and less-than-flattering outfits. Virtual Classrooms are Really Boring We've all multi-tasked while attending a WebEx, Centra Session or an Adobe Connect presentation. Enter virtual immersive environments.

A hologram in one location, being seen by potentially thousands at a conference across the globe in real time. Centra, was available in the EdTech space in the late 90’s. I saw MR many years ago, at a show in London (for VR, AR and future tech, such as MR). I was immediately impressed, but well aware that it was very early.

It wouldn’t be hard for WebEx, Adobe, Centra, Elluminate Blackboard, or their peers to provide a default conferencing environment that mirrors best practices for interactive meetings instead of mimicking what went on in yesteryear’s boring one-way workshops and classrooms. And in time you’d sell more software.
