The solutions organizations are looking for include blogs, wikis, and communities of practice. And despite this need, only 35% feel that they have the tools and experience to do this today.

Moderation - On many Wiki software packages you can require approval for posting changes. Limit Authoring - You can control who is allowed to make changes. Initially, you can start where only your instructional designers / writers are allowed to make changes. You can also limit what pages can be changed.

Disadvantages: You can not change everything to suit your own needs, and you are dependent on a number of choices that are made by the service. Examples are Winkwaves , Tomoye , icohere , etc. It is common that every member has their own page. These services are often very well developed in the social aspect.
