have tried to encourage usage of the “cloud” for the team spread across locations working on the same documents/spreadsheets. We have SharePoint Server as an option but that’s mostly used as file storage, if at all. However for some reason working on the cloud just hasn’t take off. have explored Google Docs and Zoho.

I keep hearing people talk about the 'cloud' and 'cloud computing'. Well; "Cloud computing is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet." ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing ). So, what is it? Web 3.0
Increasingly when we are looking at e-learning purchases we are coming across terms like Application Service Provider, Software as a Service, Grid Computing, Utility Computing, Platform as a Service… Just this past week Microsoft launch a web based version of Microsoft office. This is often called infrastructure as a service.
One of my 15 fans asks, “Janet what the heck is cloud computing, when should I consider a cloud service model and when should I not?&# And, to which I responded…let’s try to break that down a bit… First, let me point to some existing definitions cloud computing. 8217; Cloud Service Models.

What is SAAS and why is hosted better than having it on your own servers.  Plus, what does being in the cloud actually mean?
