One of the more common questions we receive from people using LearnDash is “how do I sell more courses”?

The truth of the matter is that there is not any “one-size-fits-all” formula that can be applied, but there are some strategies you can use to increase your chances of making the sale.

All things equal, your course has to provide ample incentive. It should alleviate a problem or provide a reward. This is something I often talk about in consulting calls with LearnDash users.

The nature of your courses will help you to frame your offering in a way that helps people overcome a particular issue. However, chances are that your competition is doing something similar. This doesn’t mean the strategy is bad, you’ll just need to put your own spin on it.

Providing incentive (reward) for your courses is where you can get really creative. If the audience for your course is for a particular profession, then you a huge opportunity.

Most professions today have sort of continuing education option (sometimes requirement) for people working in the field. Courses that help to satisfy these requirements are likely to sell more often than courses that do not.

Think about it: given the choice to purchase a course that does grant CEUs versus one that does not – which would you more likely choose? It’s probably safe to say that most people would pay for the course that comes with official credit so as to make it worth their while.

To learn more about your industry’s requirements for CEU courses, do a quick Google search for associations in the field.

For example, the Association for Talent Development (formerly American Society of Training & Development) offers a large variety of courses that grant training professionals continuing education credits towards the ATD’s professional accreditation.  If you had a course catering to this audience, it would be a good idea to contact them to see how you could get your course included in their list of approved training.

There are many people using LearnDash who are doing this. In fact, CEUey is a great example. They sell courses that grant continuing education for Behavior Analysts, and over time, they have become one of the leading internet providers for this training.

If you’re wondering how you could do something similar with LearnDash, feel free to send us a note and we would happily discuss your project goals.
