When I spoke with Adobe support regarding the issue, I was informed that the recording file in Microsoft PowerPoint uses the m4a file format. Captivate only uses the wav and mp3 file format. Then click the green arrow to convert the m4a to an mp3. However, the audio is not coming working. Interesting problem.

The format of the audio file is important because only Flash Video (FLV) files can be used for syncing events to audio. For example, if you created your audio as a WAV file, you will need to use a program like Adobe Media Encoder to convert it to an FLV file. This is where you will select the audio you created for the page.

Lectora and Lectora Online allow you to synchronize event actions to MP3 audio, MP4 video and FLV file formats. If your file is not in this format (for example, WAV or AVI) you will need to convert it to MP3/MP4. You can convert it as you import it with Lectora Online. Click Convert to MP3/MP4.

If you import a (compressed)mp3 file it will automatically be converted to a ‘raw’ wav-file which will also be in this folder. It is recommended whenever possible to import a wav file, when published it will be compressed to mp3 by Captivate. That folder will store the images created with MathMagic.
