When someone says traditional, they often are referring to Cornerstone, SumTotal, Saba, SuccessFactors and alike. I say this, because when I talked to them, I was provided with different responses to what they were (i.e. Maybe, you own a Plateau Systems Rocks T-Shirt, and thus you just can’t toss it in the heap and move on. .

They understand the value of selling to training providers and clients going B2B. The user interface is slick – way better than the days of Plateau – which some people still call it – uh, its not. Another big win – multi-tenant (extended enterprise). For employee size though I see them small to mid size.

I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). Cornerstone OnDemand. SuccessFactors – Just for those folks to remember, SF is owned by SAP and had acquired Plateau.
