Someone posted a comment in my previous post on Course Authoring and Rapid eLearning Tool Satisfaction asking whether I had used RapideL. KnowledgePlanet On-Demand joins this list as well. The answer is that I've only seen it demoed. And there's quite a bit of cross-over between the two lists. So where's RapideL?

Rapid eLearning Tools Satisfaction from the eLearningGuild Research reported Feb 2007 - Course Authoring and Rapid eLearning Tool Satisfaction See also Software Simulation Tools. Of course, they were more looking at PPT conversion tools. I'm always somewhat skeptical of niche tools (see eLearning Course Development ).

Mzinga is the result of a merger between KnowledgePlanet and Shared Insights at the end of 2007. My first encounter with them was when they were still known as KnowledgePlanet. In this model, Mzinga “hides” the LMS, but still exposes certifications, compliance, curriculum, virtual classroom, and courses through deep, direct links.

Of course, if you are consciously choosing something as a starter LMS, make sure that everyone knows that its a starter and that you plan to move in a few years. KnowledgePlanet Learning KnowledgePlanet 3 4.50 I do highly recommend using a starter LMS if you are new and you don't necessarily know what you need later on.
