I think I may have missed something in the moodle installation that automatically creates the Cron Job because I didn't have one created on my hosted server. Once I figured this out I jumped into creating a Cron Job using instructions from the Moodle Documentation Wiki.

I often find myself creating most of the content in Power Point, then importing those slides into Captivate to add interaction and publish as flash. I'd like a tool that is designed well for laying out a branching tutorial and makes it easy to create menu screens with variables based on the users path.

I am toying with the idea of creating a cartoonish character and in my research I came across SP Studio which is a very cool site that makes it easy to create custom south park cartoon characters. At this point I am leaning towards using vector clip art to create the character.

I uploaded all of the necessary files produced by Camtasia to Moodle then created a link on the course site to the html file but received a strange error when opening the link. Create a link to the new html file without spaces or special characters and voila! Hopefully this post will prevent others from making the same easy mistake.

I routinely create PDF's similar to the one page guides and make them available on the company intranet which works out great but after looking at the one page guides I know I can do better. Browsing through these one page guides reminded me that simpler is better most of the time.

If I teach a class I am only reaching a handful of people but by creating a job aid I can reach every person in the organization. Other Moodle books I have used in the past are either directed to the LMS admin installing and maintaining the database or the Trainer/Teacher creating class pages. While the moodle community is fantastic for finding quick answers to random issues, I have found that Moodle 1.9

From this class, I have learned that trying to save time by jumping to a solution is only going to cost me more time to create an inferior product. Prior to taking this class, I had a tendency to put the cart before the horse and jump straight to a solution without conducting a proper analysis.

I didn't want to deal with having to create this text file so I went to a friend who is a software developer for help. Or you can take the less tech savvy approach and upload users in bulk using a text file. The downside to this is that you still need to list out each user on the text file.

A couple of Wiki ideas I walked away with: · Honey Pots - I loved the idea of creating “honey pots” in the Wiki so that only certain areas can be edited. Tony provided some great information regarding Wiki's and the audience had some great examples of how they are being used at their organizations.

I have the ability to create classes, now how do I make them available to the rest of the company and how do I track it's use? However, Course Lab is useless if I cannot make the courses available to anybody.
