Twisties are images you include with DHTML drop-downs and DHTML expanding texts. Open or create a RoboHelp project. by Willam Van Weelden. It has gotten to a point where some of my courses are all developed in Flash and the e-learning authoring tools (DHTML) have been used more as a "shell" that decompiles it as a SCORM package. And from Adobe, Creating e-Learning Content , which includes configuring learning interactions and tracking to a SCORM or AICC compliant LMS.

They are not stand alone e-learning tools, but together allow me the ability to create effective e-learning courses. Adobe Flash - An essential tool for creating highly interactive elements, including animation, games, immersive learning simulations, and almost anything else you want if you can manage writing or finding the actionscript.

Here's how you can quickly incorporate Captivate content within a RoboHelp topic: Using Adobe Captivate, create and publish a Captivate video as a SWF. Using RoboHelp, create a RoboHelp topic and type your topic content as you normally would. and choose DHTML > Create Drop-down Hotspot and Text.

It is a glimpse not just into their development tool preferences, but it also provides some reflection into the approaches they take in creating courses. ToolBook authoring tool - this is the DHTML authoring tool used at my company, but prior to this I used TrainerSoft (now Outstart Trainer), which is my preference.

Graphics editing : There is a good chance you will need to create and/or edit graphics for your courses (e.g. Keep in mind some may be DHTML output, others create Flash SWFs. By 2015, I am sure many will create HTML5 files too. Photoshop or Fireworks).

Also while coding SCORM implementation try to avoid [advanced JavaScript functions (DHTML, regular expressions)] as each browser has varying degree of JavaScript support. But some browsers don’t support it. If you are targeting such a browser time tracking may not happen. You must take care to ensure the native browser supports. JavaScript.
