I talked about definitions of eLearning a while ago and the basic conclusion I came to is that when you say the term, while it could mean a wide variety of possible solutions - most people think of formal training delivered electronically (virtual classroom, courseware). And especially when EPSS and eLearning are not appropriate definitions.

and Many have written about the definitions of online community (White 2005). Something like this is definitely in your future. At the same time, I would definitely emphasize that while these provide good mechanisms for meeting other individuals, the "community center" is somewhat non-existant in this world.

The definition of Blended Learning was a very limited definition of face-to-face instructor-led training with some courseware. He resides in the UK and during a recent discussion by folks who visited firms in the US, the general sense was: "Blended Learning is still in the literature, but not discussed seriously" Wow, really?

Do you honestly believe that while the definition of these terms may say something, most people have very particular ideas in mind of what you mean when you say them? I would claim that willingness to accept definition of your scope in terms of learning objectives puts you in the box. However, it dawned on me that if you define the scope of responsibility based on learning objectives you end up limiting yourself to focus only on content, immediate knowledge transfer, the fat end of the Long Tail Learning.
