After creating video demo, I added small square shpe to hide one mistake. Colour of the shape box set exactly same to that of video. Everything was ok in preview. But when final Video created in publishing, color of that patch shpaed change slightly consequently one can easily identify that patchwork.

Any solution to that?

Alternative could be to trim out that part. In most circumstances it is perfectly possible to bridge that missing part. Since CP2019 i use Video Demo only for interactive video, which makes it easier.

Hi Lieve Weymeis,

Trim is not possible due to it effect other flow(assuming live commentry/speech given with video…).

I also understand that this problem is due to compression that Captivate might be doing while creating final publishing video.  As far as your suggested solution is concern, it may not be possible (viable) for small project to edit in other software and bring back. Ofcourse if there is no other option, I will have to go for such soltion only.

Thanks for your reply.

You cannot bring it back after editing in dedicated video software, since you have to do it on the output file, the MP4.

How did you define the color of the ‘patch’? I see many developers (including in the Captivate Specialist class) using the Color picker, which is a bad idea. Since long I have experienced that this is not a trusted method at all.

Moreover, since any image and video will be compressed to keep file size lower, which includes throwing out some colors, that may lead to this kind of problems as well.

The Video Demo editor in Captivate is too limited for that type of patchwork. It could be done with a professional application for video editing (Premiere Pro) but one of the issues is that you cannot even use the raw cpvc file in PP, only the published mp4.
