I’m referring to trials and demos for a learning management system/talent mgt. You would think that after years and years of having trials and demos, the process to get a trial and see a demo would be as simple as me typing these words. There is a continuance of bad demos, which again – why?

A high-level PowerPoint deck. If the briefing is on the system itself, then a demo is a necessity, and because a demo can take time, having a slide deck that goes on for 20 minutes is not something an analyst wants to spend a lot of time on, especially if there is information that isn’t necessary for that call.

That is a stretch, just as folks note PowerPoint here. PowerPoint is a presentation software. Consensus – Create video demos, video recordings etc. Again, just because you use them to write up Work Instructions or a list of items to learn, they should not qualify as a learning tool.

I asked him for a demo, he said it was doable and with that he walks away and goes and talks to three folks near the booth. Anyway, I’ll pass on the demo. I prefer having demos for some products, off-site – as in, scheduling a full demo, online via a webinar. Jeez, thank you for the sincerity and politeness.

Use of PowerPoint in ILT and now those folks are moving over to WBT. I get it you are new and are use to using PowerPoint, but PowerPoint is not an authoring tool, it is a “Presentation” tool – big difference. I will be seeing a demo of it later this week (with a review soon afterwards).
