Teaching and learning C online

This year in both our FE and HE programmes in Software Development, I am using C as the principle language. I feel that C as a structured introduction to programming has a lot to offer students new to the subject area. One of the many issues that arise when you teach any programming language I have found is going to be that of a compiler.

While the term Virtual Learning Environment only appears twice, the numerous mentions to ‘learning’ are often accompanied by: - types, methods, capturing, forms, independent, outside sessions, range of environments, so this is very good. Inspectors will also conduct formal observations of teaching, training or assessment activities.

The blended learning programmes make use of Mahara for eportfolio’s with a mixture of learning material including Scorm packages, tracked using Grade book. I must admit that Google education does offer some very interesting and tempting features, something to look into for me in the not to distant future.
