? Everyone loves a good love story. Here is one, straight from our community! This story was submitted to us through the conference app at DevLearn 2019...
In 2018 I attended the DevLearn conference for the first time. I landed on the afternoon of Sunday October 21st, shopped, then got dressed for dinner before going to the Michael Jackson ONE Cirque du Soleil show.
Being a huge craft beer enthusiast, I of course ate at The Still. I sidled up to the bar and ordered a pint of wheat beer. The bartender delivered my pint, I ordered my food, and I sipped my beer while watching the game of sportsball on TV (I’m not so much into sports, haha). I noticed the man beside me was eating the exact meal I'd just ordered, drinking the exact same beer I was, and rating it on Untappd like me. I struck up a conversation about beer with him, discovered that he was from Norway, and that he was also there for DevLearn.
We had such amazing conversation that neither of us wanted the night to end, so he walked me to Mandalay Bay. I thought we'd say goodbye when we got there and possibly see each other at the conference later that week, but instead he bought a ticket to the show! We enjoyed watching Cirque du Soleil together, and he walked me back to The Mirage, having more great conversation along the way, and...
...we have been together ever since! ?
We have flown between Canada and Norway many times over the past year to visit, and are excited to say that we celebrated our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY at The Mirage & DevLearn in 2019!
I'm not writing simply to gush, but instead to thank the organizers of DevLearn for being the reason my life changed for the better. This conference will always have a special place in my heart, and I hope we will be spending many more anniversaries here. #whatdoesdevlearnmeantoyou.
