Last week, I attended DevLearn. I suspected that the expo would feature a large quantity of rapid content authoring tools. Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product. Not only was it quite present at DevLearn, but in general, this is one of the new “hot” items in the space.

Long has tools such as Studio and Captivate been on the higher side, the same can be said for vendors such as Rapid Intake and dominKnow. Rapid Intake – Talk about price increase. No one says to me, “oh can it output to flash?” So why the fear? Regardless, if you are not upgrading its not cheap.

Feature sets – they have to be more than PPT to Flash or add an audio clip and video clip to the course. 7 Rapid Intake Unison – One of the first RCATs to offer collaborative capabilities on the net. 1 Rapid Intake mLearning Studio – RI makes three products. Feature set in general is strong.
