computer quizzesThe use of mobile technology to deliver learning is helping to reshape the landscape of the traditional course development and delivery.

This new surge in mobile learning is leading to the “mobilization” of digital content on an enterprise level. New learning content and software is being leveraged to present old content in a different way.

In some cases, we are seeing that mobile learning is becoming an actual business strategy as organizations invest in more robust elearning (and mlearning) programs for their employees.

At schools, we see a similar mobile learning strategy being implemented with the growing use of classroom tablets. Online app stores selling educational games are also becoming more popular.

Today elearning and mobile learning are both being used in very real ways to maximize productivity, efficiency of information, and the overall capabilities of an employee.

How to Get Started

If you are not currently using elearning or mobile learning at your organization, then there really is no better time (wait any longer and you’ll be playing catch up). But before investing in any of the flashy new tools available, first you need to align your organizational goals and learning program.

While this part may not seem like the most exciting, it is certainly the most important.

Without a well-structured plan in place with clearly defined objectives, then it doesn’t matter what kind of software you are using for your learning program – it will fail.

When creating objectives, tie them to real measurable metrics so that effectiveness can be measured. This also proves useful in discovering what is and is not working so that you can continue to evolve the learning program over time.
