September E-Learning Trends

eLearning 24-7

It is the NFL, the end of baseball and the realization that you can now watch all the violent movies you want, while the kids are at school. Well, you missed a fine movie. Word docs, one pagers in text, and similar – short and right to the point. If you aren’t aware the end of summer is upon us (depending on where you live in the world) and the beginning of the fall. Yep, nothing beats September. . Thankfully, the latest trends in e-learning should solve your soon to be fall foliage dilemma. Trends in the Trees. Money. Especially when it comes to giving credits.

Since this time, I have learned that I can burn an entire semester of MP4 movies onto one DVD.  I plan to hand these DVD’s out on the first day of school and hope that solves most of my issues next year.  Many of my students found their home internet connection was too slow to stream the movies, but they could install an MP4 file on their machine and watch it easily.

The iPad is your ultimate travel companion

Clive on Learning

Similarly, it would be possible to bring along TV programmes and movies to fill any voids when all you've got on offer is local TV. I’m not going to read books on my iPad at the beach, but I could have extra books loaded up just in case I finish the one I’m carrying with me. In my role as a consultant, it is hard to completely cut yourself off from business-related communication while on holiday, so the ability to receive all my emails and blog feeds was useful, along with access to my Evernote database and Google docs. I didn't mean to get an iPad. So now I've got one.

Tips for Browser Testing Your E-Learning Courses

E-learning Uncovered

Although we could have provided a “live” training session via a tool like Adobe Connect, the movie worked out even better. In addition to providing our testers with a movie, we also provided them with an Excel spreadsheet that served as a “browser testing plan.” We also watched the Google Docs spreadsheet, looking for possible misunderstandings – either in terms of filling out the spreadsheet incorrectly or misunderstanding how the courses were supposed to function.  We recently undertook a rather large browser testing project. We then asked our contractors for referrals.

If summer movie blockbusters have taught me anything, it’s this: no matter how bleak the circumstances—heroes who recognize, embrace, and employ their superpowers will prevail.  In reality, most of us are superheroes in our own right, albeit in a less glamorous way (which is good since a blue spandex leotard and cape is a hard look to pull off).  . co-workers always bring you their PowerPoint slides or Word docs to “make them look nice.”.
