7 – In 2007, I used PBWiki (now known as PBWorks) to build collaboration spaces with my colleagues, now 5 years on Google Docs is my collaboration tool of choice, and defintely on my Top 10 Tools list. Google Docs. Skype is always-on for me, which means I am only a mouse click away from texting or talking to my contacts.

delicious, Picassa, Ning, Google Docs/Google Apps, Second Life, Blogger, iGoogle, orkut, FriendFeed, Internal workplace community, PBWiki, Xing, Digg, Friendster (really?), Given many of the challenges they face, I would have thought that adoption would have been more like corporations.

This makes using something like google docs or pbwiki as an experiment somewhat difficult for the poor, lonely learning professional. Over 50% or organisations in the UK are still on Internet Explorer 6 and I've come across some that restrict javascript and all cookie. I'm not sure I buy this.

Remote Collaboration

For some (inexplicable) reason, Google Docs does not. I recommend pbWiki as an easy to use Wiki solution. I already mentioned that the fact that Google Docs does not support notification makes it more difficult to use as a solution. I also heavily use Wikis, especially when the desired result is a set of web pages.
