The design principles behind some integral parts of the platform

In this short video, Andrea Biraghi – Head of Design at Docebo – gives us a rare insight into the design principles behind some of the most integral parts of the platform. What many of us may take for granted, to Andrea is “what makes me sleep properly at night”.

The first part of a series of three videos we have entitled the UX-files, Andrea looks at the design choices behind the catalog, and introduces us to the important global concept of ‘common UX patterns’. Rather than reinventing the wheel, these patterns allow designers to capitalize on a common language to ensure users understand functions from the first point of contact with the software.

Compared with previous versions of Docebo, the latest complete redesign put common features such as search and filters top-and-centre in the learning platform. As Andrea explains, every single design choice in the Docebo platform is made carefully and purposefully – and perhaps painstakingly – in order to build a fully user-first experience. Docebo is made, from its very core, with the intent of easily taking users through their learning. The less the user even notices Andrea’s touches… the better.

As the Head of Design, Andrea has been working for Docebo since day zero. As Docebo has grown, so has Andrea’s articulate sense of care and passion for the product. He leads Docebo’s design team, taking ownership of the interface and experience. Outside of work, Andrea focuses his attention to detail on cooking, fine cuisine, wines and travel. His favourite drink is a little Campari Spritz, although he may deny this.
