Having an adult to adult conversation

From the Coleface

This month’s TJ talks about the classic framework for interpersonal behaviour, Transaction Analysis (TA), the one that categorises interactions in terms of Parent, Adult and Child states. I find myself referring to this model quite often, especially when it comes to the dissent between family members as to what arrangements we’re trying to make for Christmas.

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Mark Lawrence and Joe McGranaghan on their radio talk show On the Mark on News Radio 1070 WKOK. Mark was across the table and Joe sat beside me. The topic was "video games are good for kids?" A controversial spin on the book and a good approach for a general talk show. Joe and Mark provided great commentary, questions and insights plus they did their home work digging up some articles about the "evils" of video games and well as some articles about the b

October 4 and all that

Learning with e's

Today is a momentous day. I was just a four month old baby at the time, but my cradle was rocked, I can tell you. You see, today is the 50th anniversary of the day the space race started. Some might cynically say it was at the expense of the human race. Maybe, but when the USSR (remember them - they did a world tour in the 1960's) launched the world's first artificial satellite - Sputnik - we entered into a new era of telecommunications which eventually evolved into a vast global network that no

It was nice as a quick hit information source and I'd still recommend say it was good as a starter approach to getting statistics.
