Experiencing eLearning

People like virtual instructors that look, act like them. Learners like avatars with the same gender and ethnicity, but they also like those who give feedback the way they want: comparing against others or comparing against their own past scores. However, learning didn’t always improve based on liking the avatar better. tags: research e-learning avatar.

In an article published on a British journalism website – www.journalism.co.uk , it was reported that the BBC is now set to broadcast directly from iPhones and iPads.

The Learning is in the Process Not Outcome

Kapp Notes

Stories are an important element in instructional games and are critical for fostering higher order thinking skills. But it is not the outcome of the story where the learning occurs, it is through the process of the story unfolding. As the leaner journeys through the story, the decisions that are made, the objects chosen the questions asked or unasked are moments of opportunity for learning.

Persuasive Technology Could Be Key to Gaining User Adoption

Dashe & Thomson

We know that user adoption is critical for major software implementations to be successful. Integration (or not)

Clark Quinn

I’ve recently been asked about what industries are leading in the use of (choose one: mobile, games, social). And, in my experience, while there are some industries (medicine in mobile, for example), it’s more about who’s enlightened enough yet. Which made me think a little deeper about what I do, and don’t see. What I do see is pockets of innovation.
