Yesterday, graduate student Matt Monahan and I presented at the Training 2008 conference. Our topic was "Learning in 3D." Challenges 2008

Tony Karrer

At the end of 2006, I spent some time thinking about 2007 and wrote a post challenges and predictions for 2007. This was a great exercise and the fact that I had not considered my big challenges for 2008 made it harder to do my Conference Planning for ASTD TechKnowledge 2008. When I was writing that post, I told myself that I really needed to sit down and define what I see as some of my bigger challenges right now.

Upbeat Learning Technologies 2008

Lars is Learning

The general mood amongst the vendors and attendees I felt demonstrated a confidence in the future at odds with the wider economic gloom that the media and city types would have us believe. While the longer term impact of globalisation and an overstretched financial sector will clearly affect us all, I wonder if we.

Recruiting Gamer/Net Generation Employees

Kapp Notes

Recently, I was contacted by a company curious about whether or not they really need to be "more concerned with recruiting the so-called gamers than other generations." I answered "yes" and explained to them why it was important to focus in that area. Here is an excerpt from Gadgets, Games and Gizmos for Learning that explains some of my argument. Recruitment is a critical issue when it comes to transferring knowledge from the boomers to the gamers.

If at all real, the sci-fi city reminds me about how the school of thought "ROI" wants us to believe that "ROI" is the 5th layer in Kirkpatrick's 4 Levels of Assessment. Kirkpatrick says, the 4th level is measuring training results.
