Telecollaboration and Project Based Training

eLearning Blender

I just finished another course in the Ed Tech program at San Diego State called " Advanced Teaching with Tech." Being that the class is called "Advanced Teaching with Tech," I thought we would dive deeper into using technology but unfortunately we didn't dive much deeper than Google Apps and Questgarden. However, I did pick up some new instructional design skills that I will be able to apply at work right away.

Filtered RSS Feed

Experiencing eLearning

Partly due to a request from Tony Karrer for eLearning Learning and partly because others have asked in the past, I did a little research on how to filter an RSS feed so I can provide a feed without the daily bookmarks posts. If you’re interested in that, here’s the RSS feed without bookmarks and the link for subscribing via email. In the past, I’ve tried using PostRank for a similar purpose, but that didn’t quite do what I wanted.

The Performance Environment

Clark Quinn

I’ve represented the performance ecosystem in several ways in the past, and that process continues to occur. In the process of writing up a proposal to do some social learning strategizing for an organization, I started thinking about it from the performer perspective. Now, personal learning environments (PLE) is not a completely new concept, and quite a number of folks contributed their PLEs here.

Alternative Views of Blog Content

Tony Karrer

A great comment from Ken Allan on my post Free : My family listen to NZ Radio a lot. Current affairs progs are now all available, free, as podcasts (bits) on their site. When someone misses a broadcast they wanted to hear, their dismay is ameliorated with, "I can always access the podcast" Of course, this event rarely actually happens. So not only has bits reduced the value of some things, it also shelves the possibility of their use.

What are Serious Games? A Follow-up Post

Soon after I posted These are Not Serious Games on the blog and as a discussion on Linked-In , there was a flurry of comments over a couple of days that quickly covered some thoughts about Serious Games. m-Learning Devices

eLearning Cyclops

The Don't Waste Your Time blog posted a poll regarding the best devices for delivering m-learning. The list was comprehensive, but made me think about when is it not e-learning and becomes m-learning. There are gray areas such as laptops and netbooks. Technically they both should be included, being very mobile, but I am still hesitant to include these as m-learning devices.

Unleash Your E-Learning Graphics from PowerPoint 2007

U-Learning?

Learning with e's

Many would agree that anytime, anyplace learning has been somewhat elusive. Sure, we have had organised distance education for almost two centuries, and mega-universities (i.e. large open universities with >100,000 students) are now globally established and universally respected. But although open learning courses can provide learners with an equivalent experience to campus based learning at home and at work, it's difficult to accept them as 'anytime anyplace'.
