As a supplement to my lectures and notes for 2006-7, I decided to begin making some specific MP3 recordings at certain strategic points during the delivery, which resulted in about four or five recordings with each lasting somewhere between 3 to 4 minutes per session. While I used the MP3’s in audio form, I also decided to tryout driving an avatar with the audio and so give them all something to look at while listening, basically duplicating the material.

A few days ago Wilfred Rubens (Utrecht) posted a brief commentary and now Paulo Moekotte (Enschede) has posted an image of the model alongside Gilly Salmon's 5-step e-moderation model. He argues that 'students would probably need some kind of e-moderating' (alongside the wiki activity).

I recently received this reply from someone called Eve (sorry, no more info) to a posting I made back in February called So learners prefer the classroom. Are you sure? We've experimented with online discussions with our 9yr olds at school and found that many more children actively participate than in the classroom. They ask more questions, support each other through comments and lead the discussion.
