I am a big user of Flash and find it to be one of the most effective tools in my e-learning toolbox. Earlier this week I was very disappointed to learn Flash will not be included in the Apple iPad.

As most instructional designers know, graphics used effectively can greatly increase the efficacy of a learning event. However, Connie took it a step further and introduced us to how are brains are wired for graphics and shared great advice and examples of uber-effective use of graphics. They want quality, effective courses when and where they needed it, but I am sure they also want the instructional designers to be given the time needed to design and develop such a thing. Nevermind the iPad, Here Comes the Galaxy Tab. They are the audience. In my opinion, the most important stakeholder. Adobe's Project Rome.

FYI: There are occasions where these actually may be more effective than a course, but that is usually identified during the design phase. One of my most valuable insights was that the use of whimsical characters was an effective way to market the course, and increased recognition and participation in the project. Nevermind the iPad, Here Comes the Galaxy Tab. Also, the non-linear design and easy to navigate course encourages it to be also used as a refresher course.
