Most e-Learning vendors mention ADDIE or some form thereof on their websites as if it was a real science about creating effective learning. Theres nothing in ADDIE about learning objects or the presentation of information. To me its an instructional design process -- or even higher level than that , its a project management approach.

I also stumbled on this interview by Karl Kapp with Jane Bozarth over at e-Learning guru.com that had some good nuggets on basic instructional design and using low cost tools (like PowerPoint) to build effective e-Learning.
