I was asked what the biggest traffic sites are in eLearning that were not vendor specific sites. This was from a marketer trying to reach eLearning professionals. My quick answer was that Jane Hart’s site , eLearning Learning and The eLearning Guild would be among the top. eLearning Technology.

Clearly, there is some disconnect between Bryan's timeline of entire process from beginning to end in about 2 1/2 months and the 23 months cited by guild members. So the actual numbers reported by Guild members is roughly 11 months to select. So, we have a difference of 11 months vs. 2.5 Where does this come from?

While I don't necessarily agree with Dennis on "guilds" as the model and the profit center aspect, I completely agree that the LMS is a "toll" the learner must pay right now to get at the content. the clear answer is that the LMS is a barrier to learning that provides management and reporting that corporate training functions want.
