ASTD TechKnowledge - DevLearn Conference

Clark Quinn

I just received a question that I'm sure often is on the minds of people in eLearning - which conference they should attend (eLearning Guild DevLearn or ASTD TechKnowledge). I have been designing and developing elearning for about a year. I'm hoping that everyone can weigh in on their thoughts. Any suggestions?

Where is Clark?

Clark Quinn

I was at ATD’s Techknowledge in January, and as this is published I’m on my way to Long Beach for their Core 4 event (sold out; if you’re one of the lucky ones there, say hi!). Then, in June, I’ll be at the eLearning Guild’s FocusOn Learning event in San Diego. So, where am I this spring?

Update: Designing mLearning

Clark Quinn

I’m glad to have a firm date, and the only real problem with 2 Feb is that it makes a dodgy proposition of having the book available for the very good TechKnowledge conference (where I’m presenting a mobile learning workshop on 1 February). The book, I’m now assured, will ship on 2 February.

The events already queued up include: ASTD’s TechKnowledge 2014 , January 22-24 in Las Vegas, where I’ll be talking on aligning L&D with organizational needs (hint hint). Which also is seen in my recent chapter on the topic in the Really Useful eLearning Instruction Manual.

On the road, again

Clark Quinn

The eLearning Guild ‘s DevLearn was a blast, as always. Early in the new year, I’ll be running the mobile design workshop in San Jose for ASTD’s TechKnowledge conference. I was so involved that I hardly got to see any sessions, but had great conversations. Exciting times ahead.

My guess is that I'll be getting together with a few folks there to have a drink and discuss things like eLearning 2.0 Boston - Beer - Bloggers - Learn.com and Beer Tasting at ASTD TechKnowledge ). Symposium Work Literacy - A Key to eLearning 2.0 yeah, we know how to have fun). Maybe someone will want to do something similar.

2013 Reflections

I also presented at a wide variety of events, from regular venues like ASTD ‘s TechKnowledge and ICE, and the eLearning Guild ‘s Learning Solutions, mLearnCon, Performance Support Symposium, and DevLearn. And visiting foreign countries is something I enjoy, if not getting there ;).
