Using Twitter at DevLearn October 31, 2008

My eyes were very much opened to Twitter at the last eLearning Guild conference. About 15 of us used Twitter to…

  • Keep in touch with other conference attendees, co-workers, and friends,
  • Tell others about good and bad conference sessions (ex. “Come check out session 702, it’s great!!”), and to
  • Arrange dinner outings (ex. “Interested in dinner? A group of us will meet in the hotel lobby at 6:30…”).

I’m betting there will be tons more Twitter activity at DevLearn coming up in a few weeks. The official DevLearn Twitter page is here, my Twitter page is here, and as far as I know, these people will also be going to DevLearn:

Did I leave you off the list? If so, please add a comment and share your Twitter name! Also, check out Jane Hart’s Directory of Learning Professionals on Twitter. I’m guessing several of these people will also be at DevLearn.

Don’t forget to follow twitter.com/dl08

dl08 will follow you back and then you will be part of the global twitter feed at DevLearn08. Another tip, or reminder, is to tag your posts regarding DevLearn08 with the # sign. like this #DevLearn08

I know its a little long, and takes up precious characters from your 140 allocation but its the official tag of the conference as well. So a little consistency will help people find all of the best associated information.

Great post, BJ! I hope everyone takes advantage of all of the DevLearnLIVE activities and technologies. Its a great place to get your feet wet and try them out.

See you there!

Hi BJ! I’m actually presenting on Twitter at DL08, although now I’m a bit intimidated by all the folks who use it so extensively. I’m used to an audience that is new to it. Ah well – this just means less presenting and more discussing! My Twitter ID is writetechnology.

Can’t wait to meet everyone!
