I'm looking for vendors who supply off-the-shelf training for basic manager skills such as, time management and delegation. Thus far I've looked at Element K, SkillSoft, Vital Learning, Ninth House, and Achieve Global. What I like about these providers is the scope of what they offer -- many courses to choose from.

When you look at the larger picture, as you talk about: user-generated content, etc, the notion that you can *manage* this activity becomes somewhat ludicrous. And you don’t want to manage it so much as support it. It’s not management. I look at your list of capabilities, and I see support, and facilitation.

For example, I see GeoLearning relates to Learning Portals , Community of Practice, Mentoring , IntraLearn , Learnframe , ViewCentral , GeoMaestro , WBT Manager , WBT Systems , KnowledgeNet , Generation 21 , and GeoConnect.

Saba always thought of themselves behind the scenes as a performance management system, even though they publicly pushed it for L&D – employees. When they went course aggregator, I saw them as a nice alternative to Skillsoft who was off acquiring other course providers including NetG and then down the road, Element K.

Bob started his career in adult education with Element K (now Skillsoft ). Managers need to become learning evangelists for their employees. It's all about change management. He was their Executive Director of Education for 16 years where he helped direct and influence their learning model and product. And guess what?

Probably just three years ago, if you said Element K I would have immediately thought about off-the-shelf courseware. However, Element K has made substantial, progressive improvements to their LMS, most recently by building custom integrations between Jive Clearspace and KnowledgeHub, Element K’s LMS.
