We focus on formal learning & productivity but ignore informal learning and performance. School has confused us into thinking learning is about information dumps, not “tuning the network&#. 2D synchronous learning (WebEx, Elluminate, etc.). Web 1.0 “Connect To&#. Virtual Worlds.

No access to Elluminate. Chat messaging on Elluminate was working OK, but not the best medium for presenting a live talk. I lost Elluminate completely (again). I came in two hours early, tested out the system. The institutional network locked me out. Proxy error or firewall problem. They couldn't resolve it. Maybe semaphore?

Elluminate 4.2% Length of sessions: 30-60 minutes (almost 50%) 1-2 hours (37.3%) Other little points of interest: Synch Learning is mostly used for internal purposes. .$995 for full access to the Data and the report (if youre a member). At these prices, not something Ill be buying anytime soon. Which tools do you primarily use?

We recorded the sessions directly off the web, i.e. outside of Elluminate. Tags: Business learning Informal Learning. No matter how much prompting we provided, people showed up throughout without headphones, not having done an audio check, or with mediocre net connections. Recordings are going up now.
