Today many organizations are looking for ways to streamline L&D processes, improve the quality of their training programs and reach larger audiences. The global workforce is also on the rise. The pandemic sped up the rate of digital transformation over the last year, causing two major trends to begin. The distributed workforce quickly expanded, and employees now need reskilling more than ever to keep up with changing workplace trends.

Blended online training programs have quickly become a popular solution, and outsourcing with a trusted training provider can help your organization improve operational efficiency. Infopro Learning has over 20 years of experience in developing winning learning solutions for industry leaders. We recently assisted a healthcare non-profit organization by developing a blended online training program to improve employee performance and improve the quality of patient care.

Solution Highlights

Our client was a prominent non-profit medical association. They have more than 50,000 members who specialize in assisting patients who need cardiovascular care.

The organization had identified that their members had a lack of awareness about NCD’s. This had led to inconsistent guidelines and practices. It was also negatively impacting the quality of patient care.

They needed a learning solution that would increase awareness and the consistency of NCD prevention practices. Infopro Learning took three steps to develop a training program that would address these issues and help the organization improve patient care. We first further researched the client’s needs, and we developed a strategy to boost learner engagement. Then we created an interactive eLearning journey by integrating a blend of training modalities.

Step 1: Understanding the Clients Need

Infopro Learning began by conducting research to gain a deeper understanding of the client’s needs. Stakeholder interviews were held so that the new training program would be aligned with the organization’s vision and goals.

One of the key challenges the organization was facing was that their current program relied on instructor-led training (ilt) sessions. The subject matter experts had limited availability which made it more difficult to scale the program. They needed a learning solution that would help them reach a global audience and provide more consistent comprehensive learning experiences.

Step 2: Developing a Strategy for Increased Engagement

The program goals included increasing learner participation, boosting engagement, and improving course completion rates. High levels of completion and understanding were needed for the program to improve the quality of care patients received.

We developed a learning strategy that focused on blending modern types of training delivery that promote learner engagement in online learning environments. The new program needed to engage learners at the same level as a face-to-face course would. However, it needed to achieve this in a web-based training environment. We selected modalities that were interactive and promoted critical thinking. We also chose forms of training content that helped build context through storytelling.

Step 3: Creating an Interactive eLearning Journey with a Blend of Training Delivery Methods

The final program was designed using a blended learning strategy and a mobile-first approach to increase accessibility. The program incorporated several different training delivery methods to keep learners engaged. Short animated videos helped bring life to complex material.

Web-based learning modules with patient case-based practice exercises further facilitated the learning process. Gamified activities were included to make the process more fun. Assessments were also included so that learner progress could be tracked. The course also ended with a citification to ensure that they were fully equipped with the skills and knowledge they needed going forward.

Solution Outcome

Selecting the right blend of online training delivery methods can help modern organizations get the most out of their L&D investments. The web-based blended learning program for our healthcare client was a smashing success. The program helped the organization achieve its goals.

It delivered a number of business benefits. Training time was reduced by 30% after implementation. The program was scalable and provided a consistent and comprehensive curriculum to employees across the globe. The program was also multi-lingual, making it possible to consistently train employees in different languages.
