Not just instructional design, but basically designing for people: graphic, interface, marketing, etc design. I think anyone who designs for people ought to know it. Here I mean the role of models, examples, emotion, etc. I’m surprised, frankly, that it’s not more central.

For example, feedback loops are a mental model. Then we use examples to demonstrate models in context, showing how the abstract concepts map to real world elements. The point is that as they’re conceptual, you save the photos or videos for the examples. Find, refine, and present the models via examples.
