I regularly use LinkedIn for Finding Expertise and Searching for Expertise - LinkedIn Answers. I would point out that the first danger is akin to the danger of confusing confidence with expertise. The other danger is to take online information at face value without questioning if the information is true.

Jing Screencasts Bandwidth Limit

Luckily, viewing of my recent screencasts ( LinkedIn for Finding Expertise and Searching for Expertise - LinkedIn Answer ) will be pretty low over time. Basically, with the free account you get 2GB of bandwidth and once that's used up you have to wait for the start of the next month. Whew, it's almost Nov.

Learning Community, Peers and Outside Experts

For example, you could pull together L&D staff from 10 companies together into a community and then have people like myself and George Siemens who could help facilitate critical issues and conversations and draw in additional outside expertise as needed. To me, that sounds like a really powerful model. Great stuff Nancy and John.
